Issuing instructions for the smooth conduct of Dol Gyaras and Anant Chaturdashi festivities, BMC Commissioner Harendra Narayan on Wednesday assigned responsibilities to senior officials at the corporation.
The officials will be responsible for the timely completion of arrangements at the immersion sites and ensuring that the festivities remain incident-free.
Several municipal officers have also been deployed at the police control room to coordinate with the police administration.
As per Narayan’s orders, various responsibilities have been assigned to ensure smooth operations at different immersion sites. The Commissioner also called for the removal of temporary food stalls and shops. He underlined the need for proper management of traffic, including private vehicles, cranes, and fire and emergency services in and around the vicinity of the immersion sites.
He also ordered the pruning of trees, beautification of central and side verges, and checking the height of electrical wires along the procession route.
Immersion festivities in the city are scheduled to take place at the Khatlapura Ghat, Prempura Ghat, Malikhedi Ghat, Hiradaram Nagar, Hathaikheda Dam, Shahpura, and Kamlapati Ghat.
