BJP's acting state president and former MP Dr. Ravindra Kumar Rai, while attacking the Hemant government, said that the law and order situation in Jharkhand has completely collapsed. He said that extremist activities have started raising their head again in the state, due to which the public is being forced to take up arms for self-defense.
Dr. Rai said that strict action was taken against extremist organizations during the tenure of the BJP government. The extremists either surrendered or fell prey to the bullets of the security forces. He said that the hideouts of the extremists were demolished and they were forced to leave Jharkhand and flee elsewhere.
Dr. Rai said that the incidents that took place in East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Chatra and other districts during the reign of the current Hemant government have proved that the state is once again moving towards jungle raj. He said that the rural people have to stay awake all night for their safety and the local people are organizing Sendra (self-defense campaign) to deal with the extremists.
He criticized the state government and said that this is the first such government. Which has publicly declared 24 unsafe roads in the state. This not only symbolizes the failure of the government, but it also creates an atmosphere of fear and insecurity among the public.
Dr. Rai said that the militants have become active again to extort money from sand ghats, small mining areas, coal and stone business. This has created an atmosphere of fear among the general public and businessmen.
He demanded from the Hemant government that law and order should be strengthened in the state and the rule of law should be established. He said that the government should keep this in its priority list. BJP media in-charge Shiv Pujan Pathak and state spokesperson Rafia Naz were also present in the press conference.
