BJP leaders working overtime to meet their membership targets

Madhya Pradesh assembly and Lok Sabha polls are over, but BJP leaders at all levels of hierarchy are working overtime to make the party largest and most populous in the world.

All corporators, MLAs, MPs and party functionaries are working overtime to increase BJP membership by launching a special drive named as Sangathan Parv. The party leaders and workers are desperately working to meet the assigned targets even if it means employing all means and methods to achieve the goal.

All BJP leaders are at present busy in completing targets of making members of the saffron party. Every post holder has been given a target of including new members, like a corporator has to make 5,000 members, legislator has a target of 15,000, while the parliamentarian has to make 25,000 members.

Since, the target is extensive, it has been transferred downwards, the supporters of MP, MLA and corporators are busy approaching people and getting them included as members.

An incident reported in Tikamgarh on Monday clearly shows how desperate the BJP activists are in making people member of the saffron party. One Manvendra Singh Yadav, 27, accused four unidentified persons of beating him up at a toll plaza located on National Highway - 39 under the jurisdiction of Bamitha police station.

He stated that they asked him to become a member of BJP and when he refused, he was thrashed. Later, he lodged a complaint and an FIR has been registered against unidentified persons.

Talking to 'The Pioneer', State BJP Spokesperson Rajneesh Agrawal stated that the allegations of that person are baseless. When lakhs of people are taking membership of the party, his allegations can't be believed.

Madhya Pradesh Congress Media in-charge Mukesh Nayak said that this is not the only incident. Several such incidents have come to fore, but not reported to police. BJP leaders and workers are pressurising Anganwadi employees and contract employees and those engaged in preparing mid-day meal, for becoming members of the BJP.

As a part of the national campaign, under the Sangathan Parv, the prospective members are provided with a link of a website- narendramodi.in, where the individual has to submit his/her mobile number and get a verification code. After submitting the code, a complete form is opened where one has to submit personal details including full name, address, state, district, constituency, date of birth and a photograph.

In the year 2014, the BJP during its massive membership drive had launched innovative membership with 'Missed call' and later claimed that it become the World's number one political party. However, afterwards, it had come to light that fake membership was in large number. In Madhya Pradesh, there were 98 lakh new members, but out of them only 67 lakh were genuine.

Learning a lesson from previous fake members, this time, the party is getting filled complete details of the member.
