BJP hails Dumka Court verdict in Ankita murder case

Saturday, 30 March 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

The State BJP has welcomed the decision of Dumka Court which handed down life imprisonment to Shahrukh Hussain and Naeem Ansari for the murder of Dumka resident Ankita Singh.

In a landmark verdict, the court of First Additional District and Sessions Judge cum POCSO Court Special Judge Ramesh Chandra has handed down life imprisonment to Shahrukh Hussain and Naeem Ansari for the murder of Dumka resident Ankita. The accused were involved in a heinous act on August 23, 2022, where they doused Ankita with petrol and set her ablaze, leading to widespread outrage and a call for justice.

BJP State Vice President Aarti Kujur welcoming the decision has urged the government to appeal in the High Court so that such heinous criminals are given death sentences. Kujur said that those who are bent upon robbing the honor of the daughters of Jharkhand and taking their lives should be given the death sentence. Ankita, the girl who was murdered by spraying petrol, is not one such incident. In this way, more than 6 thousand girls have been raped and murdered in the state and such a horrific incident has also happened with them.

Kujur further said that in the Ankita murder case, DSP Noor Mustafa had shown Ankita as an adult and Shahrukh's age as a minor, the intention being that Shahrukh should not be punished. But BJP launched a strong movement in the entire state on this murder case, when the movement gained momentum, DSP corrected the age and made Shahrukh an adult.

Kujur asked the government to tell what action was taken against the DSP who had committed such a big crime and we want to ask on whose advice the DSP molested the age.

She said that the state government should come out of the policy of appeasement and vote bank and give death sentence to Ankita's killers. She further said that state government should tell how many incidents of rape and murder occurred with ST-SC girls and women. In how many cases was a fast track formed and in how many cases was action taken? The government's indifference is clearly visible in this because all the victims come from poor families.

Kujur alleged that the murderers of Rabika Pahadia, who was cut into more than 50 pieces, are also out of jail today and roaming in the open. She said that the connection of killer Shahrukh with the banned Bangladeshi organization Ansar ul Bangla was also revealed. This matter was also suppressed.

She claimed that immediately after the Ankita murder case, in Dumka itself, Armaan Ansari trapped a 14-year-old minor tribal woman in the name of love jihad and made her pregnant and then murdered her and hanged her on a tree.
