Justice of Orissa High Court (HC), Bidyut Ranjan Sarangi will be the Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court. Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal has shared this information on social media platform X.
Meghwal also informed that Acting Chief Justice S Chandrashekhar of Jharkhand High Court has been transferred to Rajasthan High Court. This decision has been taken in the meeting of the Collegium chaired by Supreme Court Chief Justice DY Chandrachud which has been approved by the President.
Justice Sarangi is going to retire on July 20 this year. He is currently the most senior judge of the Orissa High Court. After the retirement of former Chief Justice of the High Court Sanjay Kumar Mishra, the post of Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court was vacant since December 28, 2023. Justice S Chandrashekhar was serving as Acting Chief Justice since then.
