On the occasion of World Pharmacists Day, an awareness programme was held by RNT University in the village of Gokla Kundi in the Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh.
The programme, themed 'Pharmacists: Global Health and Needs,' was attended by Dr C.P. Mishra, Dean of the ISECT Group of Universities (AGU), and Dr Durga Pandey, Principal of the Institute of Pharmacy.
In an attempt to promote health awareness and highlight the vital role of pharmacists, villagers were educated about the importance of cleanliness and hygiene through a street play.The university's NSS team conducted a rally to promote cleanliness and hygiene, and participants collectively cleaned the village.
The success of the programme was ensured by Programme Officer Dr Rekha Gupta and Gabbar Singh.In his address, Dr Mishra explained to the villagers how pharmacists play a central role in addressing various health challenges, including disease prevention, patient care, and access to medication, particularly in underserved communities.
Dr Pandey praised the vital contributions made by pharmacists in tackling global health challenges during the street play and emphasised their significance in enhancing community health initiatives.
Pharmacy teachers Disha Deshmukh, Rajendra Mina, and Pramod Kumar Patel played important roles in the event. A total of 70 students, including pharmacy students and state-level volunteers, actively participated in the programme.
