Anurag Jain, a 1989 batch Indian Administrative Service officer, took charge as the 35th Chief Secretary of the State Government at the Mantralaya today. Senior officers presented bouquets to Chief Secretary Jain.
Chief Secretary Jain was born on 11 August 1965 in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. After joining the Indian Administrative Service, Jain's first posting was as Assistant Collector in Sagar in June 1990.
A multi-talented person, Jain's educational qualification is B. Tech. Engineering and M.A. Public Administration (USA).
Chief Secretary Jain held the post of Collector in Mandla, Mandsaur, Bhopal districts. Jain discharged the responsibilities of various departments as Secretary, Principal Secretary and Additional Chief Secretary in the Madhya Pradesh Government. Chief Secretary Jain also held key posts on deputation in the Government of India.
