State government on Friday transferred and posted two senior IPS officers. 1990 batch IPS Anurag Gupta is the new DGP in-charge of Jharkhand. On Friday, the Home Prison and Disaster Management Department issued its notification.

Gupta was CID DG and also has the additional charge of DG of ACB. In the year 2022, he got the DG rank. After getting the DG rank, he was first made DG Training.

Anurag Gupta took over the charge from the then DGP Ajay Kumar Singh at Jharkhand Police Headquarters on Friday. During this, Gupta said that crime, law and order maintenance, creating trust in the police among the general public and strengthening the internal system of the police will be his priority. He also said that emphasis will be laid on the recruitment of police, their promotion, and special training from time to time.

Apart from this, Gupta said that taking strict action against organized crime, cyber-crime, narcotics, crime against women is his priority. He said that policing of police stations, good behaviour of police officers with the general public in police stations, quick resolution of their problems, showing sensitivity towards the elderly, the weak and women are his top priorities.

Ajay Kumar Singh, posted as DGP, has been made the Chairman cum Managing Director of Jharkhand Police Housing Corporation Limited. He is a 1989 batch officer, in February last year he was made the DGP of Jharkhand. Prior to that he was posted as DG in ACB before becoming DGP Jharkhand, he was MD in Police Housing. Singh has served at ADGP rank in different departments of the state. He has also served in CID, Special Branch and Railways. Ajay Kumar Singh has also been the SP of Hazaribagh and Dhanbad.

Prashant Singh, a 1992 batch IPS officer, has been transferred from the post of Chairman and Managing Director of Jharkhand Police Housing Corporation Limited and made DG of Communication and Technical Services. The State Government has issued a notification regarding this in the Home, Prison and Disaster Management Department.
