AIIMS Bhopal and National Institute of Mental Health Rehabilitation (NIMHR), Sehore will now work together for the rehabilitation of mental patients. A Memorandum of Understanding to this effect was signed at AIIMS Bhopal. On this occasion, Professor (Dr) Ajai Singh, Executive Director, AIIMS Bhopal said that we usually do not even discuss mental health.
He said that we do treat mental patients but do not pay attention to their rehabilitation after that. Today the biggest need is that we have to increase professional skills in them so that they can lead a respectable life in the society. For this, the patient and his family members will also have to be explained that mental illness can also be cured like any other diseases. Earlier, Professor Vijendra Singh, Head of the Department of Psychiatry, AIIMS Bhopal said that after treatment, the patient needs the most care. In which rehabilitation has an important role and such patients will not only be advised by the NIMHR but they will also be made capable by giving them training during rehabilitation.
