After five days of accident accused car driver who hit a speeding bike rider causing his death at Nehru Nagar remained absconding, victim died after the accident.

After the collision, the driver was dragged with the car for about ten meters. The accused driver fled from the spot. The incident took place on the intervening night of September 7.

Even after five days, the police failed to find any clue of the accused. Investigation is being done by establishing a case.

The family has demanded to register a case of hit and run. The CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced.

However, TI Nirupa Pandey of Kamla Nagar police station said that both the car and the car driver could not be identified. A team is engaged in investigating the matter. With the help of CCTV cameras, a road map of the accused is being prepared.

The accident took place near Madhuram Chauraha Rameshwari Gate in Nehru Nagar. The youth was doing PhD from Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT). The youth died before being taken to the hospital.

Rahul Singh (32), lived in Akriti Eco City Bawadia kalan. Rahul's elder brother Ashok Singh told that Rahul was doing PhD from MANIT. Before this, he had done M.Tech.

On the day of incident at around 9 in the evening he left home saying that he was going to meet a friend. After meeting his friend, he was returning home late at night. At the intersection near Rameshwari Gate, a speeding Swift car coming from the front hit him hard.

His mobile phone also got switched off. We were continuously trying to call. At around 1:30 in the night, his friend called and informed about the accident. When we reached JP Hospital, we got the information about brother's death.

Rahul's father was a professor in a prestigious college of Bhopal. He retired only two years ago. Rahul has three brothers. He was the second one. The elder brother is Ashok while the younger brother is Siddharth.

Rahul wanted to become a professor like his father after his PhD. His birthday was in the month of April. This year he celebrated his birthday first with his family and then with his friends.
