A seven-year-old girl lost her life as her heart rate shot up after being chased by a stray canine on Friday afternoon. Parents rushed the child to a hospital where doctors pronounced her dead.The unfortunate incident took place at Bohra Bakhal in the city. Family members later protested by bringing traffic in the area to a standstill.
CCTV footage of the incident has been found.
The deceased has been identified as Insiya, the daughter of Mustufa Lohawala, a trader in the Freeganj area. Residents said there were already over 150 cases of dog bites in the past month.
Seventeen-year-old Sonu Sharma died of rabies after symptoms became apparent some 20 days after he suffered a canine attack in the Nagjhiri area.Family members say the girl started vomiting as she ran home after being chased by the dog and soon fainted as her heart rate shot up dangerously.
