A delegation of the Bargarh District Railway Users’ Association met Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan here, urging him for extension of the Sambalpur-Puri Intercity train to Balangir.
The association submitted a letter in which the members suggested extending the management and inspection department of the East Coast Railway to facilitate the Sambalpur-Puri Intercity with two tracks. Additionally, it proposes shifting washing and maintenance operations from Sambalpur to Balangir. The delegation urged Minister Pradhan to expedite the project for the benefit of the people.
Minister Pradhan assured the representatives that appropriate action would be taken. The delegation, guided by district BJP president Ashwini Sharangi, included working president Krishna Chandra Panda, vice president Pritam Singh and secretary Kamal Joshi. BJP State working member Arupananda Sahu was also present during the discussion.
