India's Woman Power plays at World Cup 2024 Cricket

The air crackled with anticipation of India and Pakistan cricket match, Once again in the ICC tournament India beat Pakistan in Women’s T2O World Cup group stage match by 6 wickets. India chased down the target of 105 in 18.5 overs, after losing the toss. Indian bowlers gave a much needed start by taking the wicket of Gul Feroza in the first over of the match.

India’s bowling outclassed the batting line-up of the opposition in this crucial match after they got beaten in the heavy match against New Zealand in the first game by 58 runs on the slow track.

Indian star bowler Shreyanka Patil ended her spell with 2 wickets in the bank with one maiden over and Anurdhati Reddy put the Pakistan innings on hold with 3 wickets and an economical spell in the match.

For Pakistan, Nida Dar was the highest run scorer of the team who managed to lead the team total across the mark of 100, she came in the middle order to anchor the innings after the failure of top order in high voltage game.

Chasing the target, India came hard on Pakistan. Opening duo Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana start their partnership where Shafali’s attacking innings of 32 was the highest individual score for the team after she losing her partner Mandhana early in the innings.

Shafali Verma couldn’t lead the team for long in the run chase. Middle order batter Jemimah Rodrigues and Captain Harmanpreet Kaur’s steady partnership gave the team solidity in successfully chasing the target.

Pakistan is still in the league with upcoming match against defending champions Australia on Friday.

India managed to win this match keeping 6 wickets after a slow start in power play without hitting a boundary. India made their mark with first win of the tournament and will go from here to face Sri Lanka on Wednesday and try to enter the semi final stage.
