Delhi continued to be the most polluted place in India - for the fifth consecutive day - with the overall air quality of the national capital continuing to be in the "severe" category. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, Delhi's overall 24-hour average air quality index (AQI) was 429 (severe) at 4 pm. on Friday. The air pollution in Delhi was over 17 times the limit prescribed by the World Health Organisation (WHO), in the morning which rose to 43 times in the evening, according to official data. The overall level of PM2.5 (a chief pollutant) in Delhi was 255.3 micrograms per cubic meter.
