A man got injured after a quarrel between a group of friends turned violent in south Delhi's Fatehpur Beri area.
According to the police on Sunday, on the evening of December 26, 28 year old Sanju Tanwar was having alcohol with his friends. “Information regarding a quarrel was received at Fatehpur Beri police station from Fortis Hospital. The statement of the injured, Sanju Tanwar, resident of Fatehpur Beri, was recorded,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Ankit Chauhan said.
An argument broke out among Tanwar and his friends including Mohit Chikara, Preet Tanwar, and Manish Goyal which turned violent. The three men allegedly assaulted Tanwar, leaving him injured, the police said.
“During the altercation, his friends Mohit Chikara, Preet Tanwar, and Manish Goyal beat him near Bijli Ghar, Jhod, Fatehpur Beri, New Delhi,” the DCP said.
He added that based on the contents of the statement, a case under section 126 (2) (Wrongful restraint), 115 (2) (Voluntarily causing hurt), 351 (2) (Criminal intimidation) and 3 (5) (joint liability) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has been registered and investigation is underway.
