QR Code Machines for tickets at NFR
Maligaon: In order to promote the vision of ‘Digital India’ and facilitate cashless transactions at booking counters across the railway stations over Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), a total of 191 QR code machines have been provided at 422 locations over five divisions at Katihar, Rangiya, Alipurduar, Lumding and Tinsukia. 587 counters at these locations have been covered till date. Further, 189 additional QR code machines are in advance stage of procurement, and will soon be installed at selected stations.

RPF of NFR nabs 225 illegal migrants
Maligaon: Continuing the fight to detect illegal migrants (Bangladeshis and Rohingyas) the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Northeast Frontier Railway has nabbed 225 illegal migrants and 16 Indian agents during checks across various stations of N.F. Railway from January 1 to August 15, 2024. In the present month itself till 15 th of August, RPF of N. F. Railway has detained 22 illegal migrants. In an incident on 01 st of August 2024, RPF team of Agartala jointly with GRP/Agartala conducted a routine drive at Agartala Railway Station.
