In its second major drug bust in a month, the Delhi Police’s Special Cell seized 200 kilograms of cocaine valued at Rs 2,000 crore from west Delhi on Thursday. This has a connection with the earlier bust of Rs 5,000 crore worth of cocaine.
Marking the second major drug bust, police say that the gang involved in the latest seizure is part of the same syndicate.
Last week, Delhi Police had seized over 560 kg of Colombian cocaine and 40 kg of marijuana in southwest Delhi valued at over Rs 5,000 crore in the international market.
The drugs were being transported by an international module, and was described as the largest drug bust till date.
The official also indicated that a raid is currently ongoing in the Ramesh Nagar area of west Delhi in the case. “More details from the confiscation is awaited, ” a senior police officer stated.
Earlier this month, the Delhi Police busted an international drug syndicate and seized more than 602 kg of cocaine in the national capital's Mahipalpur in early October. The police valued the consignment at Rs 6,500 crore in the international market.
