As Uttar Pradesh gears up for by-elections on nine assembly seats, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has released a list of 40 star campaigners, including BSP supremo Mayawati and senior leader Satish Chandra Mishra. These leaders will work tirelessly to secure victories for the party in the upcoming elections, the party said in a statement issued here.
The by-elections are set for seats in Ghaziabad, Meerpur, Kundarki, Khair, Karhal, Sisamau, Phulpur, Katehari, and Majhawan. Originally scheduled for November 13, the Election Commission postponed the voting date by a week, moving it to November 20.
Ahead of the by-polls, Mayawati has been vocal in her criticism of the opposition, particularly targeting the BJP and Congress.
she took aim at both parties, stating that while millions are struggling with inflation and unemployment, the BJP and Congress are more focused on attacking each other in their campaigns for the Maharashtra and Jharkhand elections and making promises of "freebies."
She accused both parties of engaging in "negative politics," alleging that they prioritize false promises over genuine public issues. In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Mayawati said the pledges made by these parties are not fulfilled honestly, as they are only intended to mislead people. She added that leaders often forget these promises once in power.
