Emphasising the potential of fallow lands in Eastern India for oilseed cultivation, despite challenges such as the GM mustard case and fluctuating global prices, Niti Aayog member Prof. Ramesh Chand has favoured a robust policy framework to support sustainable sectoral growth.
He was sharing his views at the IVPA Global Round Table Conference @3.0 on Theme "Veg Oils Vision 2030: Opportunity and Challenges". The event witnessed the participation of about 500 delegates from across the globe serves as an important forum for addressing the complex challenges and exploring the vast opportunities within the vegetable oil industry by providing a platform for an open exchange of ideas.
Among those who attended the conference were Minister of Plantation and Commodities, Malaysia, Dr. Ir. Kasan, MM, the Head of Trade Policy Agency of the Ministry of Trade Republic of Indonesia, Kevin Roepke, Regional Director South Asia, USSEC and Mariano Beheran, Agriculture Attache of Argentina.
Minister of Plantation & Commodities, Malaysia, Datuk Seri Johari bin Abdul Ghani reiterated his country's commitment to sustainable palm oil production and its role in fostering economic ties with India beyond palm oil. This commitment aligns with environmental responsibility and meeting global demands, he said.
