Ratu Road elevated corridor to have glimpse of State’s art & culture

Thursday, 20 July 2023 | PNS | Ranchi

The elevated corridor at Ratu Road in Ranchi will have the glimpse of Jharkhand arts and culture, state rich flora and fauna. For this, preparation is being done on a large scale by NHAI and KCC Buildcon. In this regard, work has also started on the instructions of Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth. Efforts are being made that this elevated corridor of Ranchi can be included in the selected corridors of the country.

Such preparations are being made so that those passing through the elevated corridor will feel like being in Jharkhand. There will be an opportunity to see the art culture of Jharkhand. The life story of the great men of this place will also be shown. An agency from Nagpur has been contacted for this work. That agency is preparing to decorate all the peelers of this elevated corridor in a better way. The decoration is likely to cost around Rs 2.5 crore. According to the preparations being made by the agency, this elevated corridor has been divided into 5 zones. It will be decorated according to the same 5 zones. This includes Tribal Zone, Personality Zone, Sports Zone, Social Awareness Zone and Green Zone. In the Personality Zone, life stories of many great men of Jharkhand including Bhagwan Birsa Munda, Sidho Kanho, Nilambar Pitambar, Chand Bhairav will be seen. On the other hand, in the sports zone, Jharkhand's players and their achievements related to other sports including hockey, football, archery, Olympics will be seen. The green zone of Jharkhand's rivers, mountains and waterfalls will be visible in the green zone.

The Social Awareness Zone will have a variety of social messages. The shade of waterfalls around Ranchi will also be seen on the pillars of this elevated corridor. This would be decorated with better lighting. Apart from this, preparations are also being made for colourful lighting on steel plates, so that the corridor looks even more beautiful with its effect.

Apart from this, glimpses of Sohrai painting, Chhau and Paika will also be seen on the walls above this corridor. Jharkhand's forests, waterfalls and wildlife will be shown through 3D. Apart from this, adequate amount of lighting will be done under the corridor. This will enhance its beauty. MP Sanjay Seth told that by March 2024 this corridor will be completely ready, there is every possibility of it. I have given instructions to the concerned agency and department to decorate it.

I have clearly directed that the corridor should be decorated in such a way that Jharkhand can be seen here. Along with the water, forests, mountains, waterfalls of Ranchi and Jharkhand, I have also directed for the glimpse of nature's unique shade, wildlife, tourist places etc. to be seen in this decoration.

Meanwhile the work of Ratu Road elevated corridor is progressing rapidly. A total of 101 piers are to be constructed in the elevated corridor. Out of this, the foundation work of 79 piers has been completed. Now only foundation work is left for 22 piers. Some of these piers will be constructed from Kishori Singh Yadav Chowk to Zakir Hussain Park via Nagbaba Khatal. Whereas, some piers will be built on Itki Road of NH-23. Cap has been installed in 19 piers.

Caps have been installed on piers from Pandra Road to Piska Mod Chowk and from Kishori Singh Yadav Chowk to Ratu Road Chowk. At the same time, a span girder of six has been installed in Pandra Road. Now the work of the deck slab is being done. That is, now it is being prepared for operation.
