Excise Department and Revenue Department took joint action in Sonakchh regarding the code of conduct. The action was taken against illegal production, sales outlets and hotel dhabas in circle Sonkachh area.
On the instructions of Collector Dewas Rishav Gupta and under the guidance of Assistant Excise Commissioner Rajnarayan Soni, on thursday action was taken in Od near Pilwani, Agera Phata and Pushpagiri hill of circle Sonkach, in which large quantity of Mahua Lahan filled in drums was seized. About 600 kilograms Mahua lahan and 12 liters of hand made liquor, 50 country made liquor plain quarters and 20 foreign liquor beer cans were recovered, the seized Mahua Lahan was destroyed on the spot. During the proceedings, 4 cases were registered under Section 34 (1) of Madhya Pradesh Excise Act 1915 and the market value of the seized material was approximately Rs 68650.
