Puri: The State Government has appointed senior IAS officer Ranjan Kumar Das as Chief Administrator of the Shree Jaganath
Temple Administration (SJTA). Outgoing Chief Administrator
Vir Bikram Singh Yadav has been sent to the cadre of Special Secretary to the Government. Das has now the responsibility of conducting the upcoming Rath Yatra scheduled for June 20. Das was earlier the Special Secretary in the Language, Literature and Culture Department.
CURFEW WITHDRAWN FROM ALL AREAS OF SAMBALPUR
Sambalpur: In view of the restoration of normalcy in Sambalpur after the violence during Hanuman Jayanti celebrations, the curfew restrictions have been lifted from all areas of the city. However, the local administration has kept restrictions on meetings and rallies in force. Written permission from the district administration is required to organise such events.
BHITARKANIKA CLOSED FROM MAY 1 TO JULY 31
Kendrapada: The Bhitarkanika National Park in Kendrapada district will remain closed from May 1 to July 31 in view of the mating and nesting season of saltwater crocodiles. The restrictions are imposed every year during the season as sound created by boats carrying tourists can disturb the reptiles and make them violent. Such restrictions will be imposed in Bhitarkanika, Dangamala and Ragadapati forest blocks. Local forest dwellers have also been prohibited from entering the area for collection of honey and wood.
KIIT INT’L SCHOOL’S PRIYANKA TOPS JEE-MAIN IN ODISHA
Bhubaneswar: Priyanka Sar of the KiiT International School has made her alma mater proud by becoming the Odisha topper in the JEE Main Exams, the results of which were declared on Saturday. Priyanka scored 99.985%, the highest percentage secured by a JEE-Main candidate in Odisha.
MISSING BOY’S BODY FOUND FROM GOVARI RIVER
Kendrapada: Locals on Sunday fished out a dead body of a 13-year-old boy, Ram Chandra Sahu, of Mahipal village, who had gone on missing at the Govari river on Saturday while going to bring water for Jalavishek of Shani God at Mahipal. Fire tender personnel had failed to trace the boy.
TPSODL’S SAFETY AWARENESS THROUGH NUKKAD NATAKS
Brahmapur: In a step to spread safety culture for its employees, business associates and people in general, the TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL) is creating public awareness through Nukkad Nataks. These Nukkad Nataks are being organised for spreading awareness on unauthorised hooking for animal poaching, unauthorised construction near any TPSODL infrastructure and domestic electrical safety. A total of 135 such activities are planned for the year.
FADA HOLDS EDITION OF ‘VYAPAR’ IN ODISHA
Bhubaneswar: The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) hosted the 14th edition of Vyapar, the annual meet of automobile dealers, in Odisha. This was the first-ever edition of Vyapar Meet in Odisha held under the theme "Wheels of Odisha." FADA Vyapar promised to be a remarkable gathering, bringing together industry experts, thought leaders, and stakeholders to explore and discuss the future of the Indian mobility ecosystem, including opportunities and challenges. It was inaugurated by Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal.
