The ICSI (Institute of Company Secretaries of India), Bhubaneswar Chapter organised an ICSI Teachers’ Conference on “Empowering Educators” for senior secondary teachers on Sunday.
Delivering the inaugural address, Prof (Dr) PP Mathur, Vice-Chancellor, Birla Global University Odisha said teachers are necessary for the society and has a greater responsibility. He also talked about integrity, high ethical standards to be inculcated in a teacher and a teacher should be a role model for the students.
Prof (Dr) Ranjan Kumar Bal, Vice-Chancellor, ASBM University, addressed the conference as guest of honour and said students expect a lot from the teachers and teachers should come forward to help the students. A teacher should appreciate the students. He demonstrated as a leader in teaching and encouraging the students to work in a team.
In the technical sessions of the conference, Prof (Dr) BR Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, Sri Sri University, addressed on “Stress Management through Yoga”. Prof (Dr) DV Ramana, Professor of Accounting, Xavier Institute of Management, talked about teachers’ skills.
The other dignitaries who addressed the conference were CS Soumya Sujit Mishra, Chairman, EIRC of the ICSI; CS Bimal Prasad Pattanaik, Chairman, Bhubaneswar Chapter, Prof (Dr) SR Mohapatra, Dean, Management, BPUT, Dr PK Mohanty, Dean School of Commerce, XIM University.
