Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will inaugurate the India International Science Festival on January 21 at 10:30 am at Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, MANIT. Union Minister for Science & Technology Jitendra Singh and Minister for Science & Technology and MSME Omprakash Sakhlecha will be present as special guests at the festival.
The festival is being organised under the aegis of Union Ministry of Biotechnology, Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Department of Space, Department of Atomic Energy, Vigyan Bharati (VIBHA), Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT). Madhya Pradesh Government is the collaborator and MP Science and Technology Council is the nodal agency in this entire programme.
Chief Scientific Advisor to the Central Government Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, Secretary Biotechnology Rajesh S. Gokhale, Secretary Ministry of Earth Sciences M Ravichandran, Secretary Vigyan Bharati Sudhir Bhadauria, Director General CSIR and Secretary DSIR (Smt.) N Kalaiselvi, Scientist H DBT Government of India Sanjay Mishra will be specially present.
The main objective of celebrating Science Festival every year since 2015 is to celebrate scientific and technological achievements and to involve common people in this event. At the same time, it aims to bring joy, frolic and healthy entertainment in the lives of common people and to encourage creativity and innovations among school children.
More than 8,000 delegates from different regions of the country will participate in the science festival being held for the first time in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. Eminent scientists, researchers, students from universities, colleges and schools, teachers and industry experts will participate in the festival. Around one lakh people are expected to witness the festival. The main theme of this festival being held in the Amritkal of Independence is 'Moving towards Amritkal with science, technology and innovation'.
This time 15 activities will be organised in the festival. Renowned Sufi singer Kailash Kher will also give vocal performance on the first day.
