As Bokaro Steel Plant engaged in scaling new heights day by day hence pertaining to the same BSL has now achieved new heights in the month of August, 2023 with all its major units registering growth during the month as compared to Corresponding Period Last Year (CPLY). There was a growth of 15% in hot metal production, 11.7% growth in Crude Steel production and 18.1% growth in Saleable Steel production in the month of August’ 2023 as compared to CPLY. Major production units like the Coke Ovens & Coal Chemicals (CO&CC), SMS-New and Hot Rolled Coil Finishing (HRCF) achieved 100% of the production target while the Hot Strip Mill (HSM) achieved 99% of its production target. 100% achievement in production target was also obtained for the first time in PLTCM, BAF & SPM-III units of Cold Rolling Mill (CRM-III).
On 1st September, Executive Director (Works) BK Tiwari along with Executive Director(P&A) Rajan Prasad visited these departments and congratulated the team members for this feat. Chief General Managers, senior officials and elated employees of these departments were also present on this occasion. Notably New daily production record in Heat Blown, Heat Cast and Crude Steel production in SMS New and PLTCM & BAF of CRM-III was also achieved during August, 2023. Best August month production since inception was also achieved in Oven Pushing (510 Oven pushing), Hot Metal production of a record 3,88,956 Tonne with four Furnace Operation, 80,972 Tonne Crude Steel from SMS-New, 3,73,230 Tonne HR Coil production from HSM, 66,131 Tonne CR Saleable from CRM-III and also a record Saleable Steel Dispatch of 3,67,989 Tonne in the month of August. Among the string of records, a new Monthly Record was made in PLTCM, BAF, and SPM-III of CRM-III and also in the production of saleable steel.
Apart from these remarkable achievements, Record lining life 1717 was achieved for Converter D1 at SMS New while significant improvement in some key techno-economic parameters like B.F. Productivity on working volume, Coke Rate etc . COC BSL M.K Dhan said that with a spirited performance last month, Bokaro Steel Plant is all geared-up for setting new benchmarks in excellence in the coming months of the current fiscal.
