ATS nab wanted member of int’l trafficking gang

Sleuths of the Anti-terrorists Squad (ATS) claimed to have achieved success in laying  a trap on one more member of the gang involved in trafficking Bangladesh and Myanmar residents on fake Indian identity.
According to an official communiqué, the sleuths of the ATS Uttar Pradesh had received information that an international gang, by forming a syndicate, was illegally crossing the India-Bangladesh international border with the aim of luring, cheating and exploiting Rohingya and Bangladeshi citizens, mainly girls and children for human trafficking.
Earlier on July 26, 2021, ATS registered a case in this regard against Mohammad Noor alias Noorul Islam, resident of Hansarpara in Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh, Rahmatullah and Shabi Ullah, residents of Rajravi in Myanmar,   and later arrested them.
They were booked under Section 420, 467, 468, 471, 370, 120B Indian Penal Code and 14 Foreign Acts in a case registered at ATS police station in Lucknow. One Rubel and two girls Ruma and Hamida respectively were rescued from them and sent to the Detention Centre in Delhi.
Based on the evidence obtained during the investigation of the aforementioned criminals, on August 2, 2021, Abdul Sakur and Aale Mia, residents of Khanjar Para in Cox’s Bazar, were arrested from Bareilly. Subsequently, on August 5, 2021, Ismail was arrested from Hyderabad, while on February 26, 2022, Rafiq, a resident of Myanmar, and on August 28, 2022, Bappan alias Arsad Mian, a resident of Tripura, were apprehended.
According to ATS officials, they were also looking for Mohd Hussain, a native of Shab Bazaar of Bushidang, Myanmar, and also announced a cash reward of Rs 25,000 on his arrest. They claimed that they finally got success  when acting on a tip off, they arrested Hussain from Kargil Colony, Narwal, Jammu on last Monday evening.
They took his transit remand and produced him here before a designated court. They will now try to take him in police custody to grill him further and extract more details.
