Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday said unemployment allowance will be useful for youths in higher education, preparation for competitive exams and during training.
He was addressing a virtual event organised to release Rs 16 crore to the bank accounts of 66,265 youths here. Under the scheme, Rs 2,500 will be transferred every month into the accounts.
Baghel said an action plan has been made for proper employment arrangements for all. The monthly allowance will reduce the dependence of the family. It can be utilised for competitive exams or preparing for self-employment.
He added that tough eligibility rules have been simplified as the limit is Rs 2.5 lakhs. The filing of applications is simple and online. The amount will be transferred directly into bank accounts.
Baghel said true happiness will be when the youths get employment.
Patting the Higher Education Department Minister Umesh Patel and his team, Baghel said they executed the policy within a record time.
Hitesh of Surguja told the Chief Minister he will utilise the money for further studies. Megha Khandekar said it will be put to better use. Ishwari Sahu of Raigarh said it will support her computer studies. Rishabh Chandrakar from Mahasamund said it will help to arrange his coaching fees.
