The 16th Vigyan Manthan Yatra started from Monday with the aim of creating interest in science among the school students of the state and introducing them to new innovations in science.
More than 1,000 students from classes VIII to XII from 52 districts of the state participated in this yatra organized by the Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology. On the inauguration of the Yatra, Dr. Vivek Katare, Head of Mission Excellence, said that it is a matter of great pleasure that the students of the state will get an opportunity to meet the eminent institutions, scientists and researchers of the country.
Dr. Anil Kothari, Director General, Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology, present in the programme, explained the importance of science and technology to the school students and said that India's scientific journey has been very authentic. Whatever steps have been taken by India in the field of science, they have been appreciated in the world.
Show toys to children in the session
During this, R&D Synopsis Scientist Manish Jain taught the children to make various types of toys virtually.
Manish Jain said that toys should continue to be a source of wonder and joy for children to embark on a new journey.
In the second session, Dr. Alok Chowdhary, Principal Scientist, MPCST, gave detailed information about Space Based Information Support to the children.
He said that this technology is not of today. It was used many years ago by Tipu Sultan during his war. With this, he attacked the enemies by making a cannon. Dr. Chowdhary told the children about the first meeting of India.
He said that when we send any of our missiles into space, there are many reasons for that. Through this, we do research about the activities happening in space and know about the lifestyle there.
Agriculture is very important in India
Present in the program, Babusaheb Khade of the Indian Council of Agriculture Research Center National Center for Grapes, Pune, talked to the children about agriculture and the new developments taking place on it.
He said that our India is an agricultural country. Here about 50 percent of the population depends on the income from agriculture. Think how this society would be if there were no farmers, without them our life would be very difficult.
