Uttar Pradesh Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi said the next drive for payment of 14th installment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana for the benefit of the farmers would be launched on Wednesday (May 24).

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will launch the drive under which farmers left out earlier will be covered. The chief minister will address the farmers across the state and 5,000   LED screens will be set up in 5,000 villages.

The minister said that the drive aims to cover all the farmers under the scheme and along with e-KYC, revenue records and bank accounts of the farmers would be linked with Aadhaar numbers.

Shahi said that the drive to conclude on June 10 would benefit 2.63 crore farmers across the state.

He said that the PM Kisan Samman Yojana commenced in December 2018 and farmers are paid Rs 6,000 each year in three installments of Rs 2,000. He pointed out that from December 2018 to April 2023, as much as Rs 55,882 crore have been credited in the savings accounts of farmers through direct benefit transfer.

The agriculture minister said 2.63 crore farmers are benefiting from the scheme and all the farmers have so far got at least one installment. “So far, the verified land records of 2.20 crore farmers have been uploaded on the PM Kisan portal. The e-KYC of 1.84 crore farmers has so far been completed and bank accounts of 2.19 crore farmers have been linked with Aadhaar,” Shahi said. 

He said that for the payment of 14th installment, the Central government has made e-KYC, verification of land records and linking of bank accounts with Aadhaar mandatory. He said that for achieving the target, special camps are being organised in 5,000 village panchayats from May 22, and will conclude on June 10. He added that for e-KYC, the Union Agriculture Ministry has developed a mobile app with the help of which farmers can complete the e-KYC.
