Samajwadi Party, Odisha unit president Rabindra Nath Behera has urged CM Naveen Patnaik to direct the State OBC Commission to make public its report on the OBC survey it conducted during May 1-July 25 this year.
In a letter to the CM, Behera said, “While answering a question in the Assembly, the Hon’ble Minister, SC, ST, OBC Minority Affairs and Law, Jagannath Saraka said that the Government of Odisha likes to implement the OBC reservation in the State after the publication of OBC survey report. It can be mentioned here that while implementing EWS quota last year, no caste census was conducted. But for implementation of OBC reservation, the Government wants the OBC caste census.”
He further said, “In spite of our delegation’s meeting with the State OBC Commission, the survey report is yet to be published. Hence, OBC people in the State are not getting reservation in education, employment and in other welfare schemes.”
