Uttar Pradesh got 30 more officers of the Indian Police Services (IPS) cadre after the Union Ministry of Home Affairs on Thursday promoted the officers of Provincial Police Service (PPS) cadre of UP to the elite IPS rank.
The recommendation for promotion of these officers was sent by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath after the Departmental Promotion Committee cleared their elevation to IPS rank. Thirty officers of PPS of 1992 and 1993 batches were promoted to IPS rank.
Reports said that the meeting of the DPC was held last month under the leadership of the officers of the Union Public Service Commission and Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra and DGP Dr DS Chauhan participated in it.
In the meeting, names of 30 PPS officers of 1992 and 1993 batches were cleared for promotion to the IPS cadre and the list was sent to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for his approval. After getting consent of the chief minister, the list was sent to the Centre which announced the promotion on Thursday.
The officers promoted from PPS to IPS cadre include 1992 batch PPS officers Shravan Kumar Singh, Sarbananda Yadav, Hafizur Rahman, Ramesh Prasad Gupta, Keshav Chand Goswami, Omvir Singh, Rajesh Kumar Yadav, Babita Sahu, Lal Saheb Yadav, Rajdhari Chaurasia, Vinod Kumar, Om Prakash Yadav, Mahatma Prasad, Prabal Pratap Singh, Rajesh Kumar, Dayaram, Girjesh Kumar, Premchand, Bhim Priya Ashok, Sanjay Kumar, and 1993 batch PPS officers Dinesh Kumar Singh, Chandra Prakash Shukla, Brijesh Kumar Mishra, Ashutosh Shukla, Brijesh Kumar Srivastava, Shailendra Kumar Rai, Shivaji, Arvind Mishra, Aditya Kumar Shukla and Anil Kumar Singh.
