Heavy police force was deployed during action of razing houses of three shopkeepers and a shop involved in selling banned Chinese string (manja) action was taken after death of a girl student.
City Superintendent of Police Pallavi Shukla said that the Mahakal police had seized 26 chakris of Chinese string from Chulbul Pantag Center of Upkeshwar Chauraha Artillery, resident of Abdul Jabbar.
On Sunday, the municipal team broke the illegal construction of his three-storey house and shop. During the action, Abdul's relatives and residents protested.
Vijay Bhavsar, who lives in street number two located in Shastri Nagar, operates a grocery shop outside the house. The Nilganga police had seized nine chakris of Chinese string from his shop. Vijay had illegally constructed a shop outside the house without the permission of the Municipal Corporation. The corporation's team grounded the construction with JCB.
Similarly, the Mahakal police had seized 50 chakris of Chinese string from Hrithik Jadhav, a resident of Mazhar Ali Ka Bada at Indore Gate. His kutcha house was also demolished on Sunday.
During the action, the relatives kept pleading, although no officer listened to them.
On Saturday, 11th class student Neha Anjana was hit by Chinese string while passing through a two-wheeler from Zero Point Bridge in Freeganj. Se died after his throat was slit with the Chinese string. After this the administration and police started action. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had also given instructions to take action.
