Director General of Police (DGP) Sudhir Saxena inspected the Regional FSL located at Bhadbhada Bhopal on Tuesday.
During this, he visited all the labs and discussed with the scientific officers and got information about various types of tests being done in FSL.
DGP Saxena also reviewed the resources and cases available in various FSLs of the state and stressed on speedy disposal of pending DNA cases.
There are three laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art technology for DNA testing in the state. Earlier, the facility of DNA testing was available only in Sagar's FSL. Now Bhopal and Indore also have this facility.
To speed up DNA testing, the DGP directed to set up a new DNA lab at Bhopal FSL and purchase necessary equipment and complete this work in the next few months. He also directed to start DNA testing in Gwalior FSL within two months, renovation of Jabalpur FSL and procurement of necessary equipment in all FSLs.
Additional Director General of Police (Technical Services) GP Singh, Director FSL Shashikant Shukla and scientists were present during the inspection.
