After a gap of two years due to the Corona epidemic, this year the Gopalpur Beach Festival will be held from December 24 to 28 by the district administration.
On the occasion, the Pallishri Mela will be one of the major cultural events. The festival is a medium for the development and promotion of tourism in the Ganjam district.
In a Press conference, Collector Dibyajyoti Parida gave information about the festival and described that such a mega programme has been taken up by the district administration for the first time.
The administration has focused on the safety of the people during the festival. Five parking areas have been identified. The food stalls to be opened at the festival sites will be inspected twice a day and a committee has been formed for the purpose, the Collector said.
Various items produced by women SHGs will be sold in 120 stalls. The cultural programmes will comprise dance, music, songs, sand art and water sports.
