Death cuts short the Big Bull’s run at 62

Billionaire investor, the ‘Big Bull’ of the Indian market, and Akasa Air co-founder Rakesh Jhunjhunwala passed away on Sunday, following a cardiac arrest.

He was 62 and is survived by his wife Rekha Jhunjhunwala and daughter Nishtha and two twin sons Aryaman and Aryaveer.

 Jhunjhunwala, who was the 36th richest person in the country as per the Forbes’ 2021 list and had a net worth of around $5.8 billion, was brought dead to the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai at 6:45 A.M on Sunday. His health had deteriorated over the past few weeks, and he was being treated for kidney-related ailments and ischemic heart disease. The hospital certified that cardiac arrest was the cause of his death.   

 Jhunjhunwala, who had lived his life king size, had several vices. He had gone on record way back in 2013, saying: ‘I don’t have good habits. I smoke like a chimney, drink like a fish, eat like a pig. I don’t exercise. Yes. My health worries me’.
