Yesterday, Vellore Institute of Technology’s (Andhra Pradesh) founder-chancellor, Dr G Viswanathan met with YS Jaganmohan Reddy, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and handed over Rs 50,00,000 towards the Chief Minister’s RELIEF FUND to support the efforts of the Andhra Pradesh government’s fight against COVID-19. Initially, VIT-AP had donated Rs 25 lakh on March 30, 2020to the state government.
Dr SV Kota Reddy, the vice-chancellor, shared that VIT-AP is offering undergraduate programmes in B. Tech CSE, ECE, Mech, BBA with specialisations in Digital Marketing, Fintech, Business Analytics Post Graduate programmes in, M Tech CSE, M. Tech(VLSI) M Sc in Physics, Chemistry, Data Science, BA-MA Public Service, BSc-MSc Data science Dual Degree and BA LLB and BBA LLB, M Tech software engineering integrated programmes through seven different schools. Those are School of Computer Science and Engineering (SCOPE), School of Electronics Engineering (SENSE), School of Mechanical Engineering (SMEC), School of Advanced Sciences (SAS), VIT-AP School of Business (VSB), VIT-AP School of Law (VSL), VIT-AP School of Social Sciences and Humanities (VISH).
Dr Sekar Viswanathan, vice president of VIT, said that the VIT-AP campus has 4728 students from 27 states and six countries and along with good infrastructure also possesses 72 student operated clubs and chapters. VIT-AP has signed 14 MOUs with industry partners to enrich student skills with certification in addition to MOUs with 18 Partner universities from the USA, UK, Australia and Europe creating opportunities for faculty exchange and semester abroad programmes (SAP).
Sankar Viswanathan, vice president of VIT University and Dr CLV Sivakumar, registrar of VIT-AP were also present on the occasion.
