One held for selling Remdesivir in black

Chhattisgarh Police arrested a 28-year-old man for allegedly selling Remdesivir injection -- critical in battling Covid-19 -- for Rs 6,500 each in Bhilai in Durg district, police said on Friday.

Durg Additional Superintendent of Police Sanjay Dhruv told The Pioneer that Salman Ali, who was arrested, was a resident of Jamul area in Bhilai.

He was taken into custody near Basant Cinema Hall in Chhawani Chowk.

Based on a tip, a decoy customer arrested him for selling Remdesivir injection for Rs 6,500 each. Police seized six vials of Remdesivir from him.

Ali told the police that he got Remdesivir from a Javed Khan (25) of Jamul.
