The Ministry of Women and Child Development has constituted a task force at district level to solve the issues and grievances of children affected by Covid-19.
Minister Rajendra Pal also convened a web based orientation session for the same. He also paid tributes to the frontline workers of Delhi ‘Integrated Child Development Services’ who lost their lives.
Recognising the vulnerability of children during Covid pandemic, especially those who lost their parents or families, thereby losing meager source of income, the department has recently initiated a series of measures for strengthening its efforts for protection and care of vulnerable children, a senior official said.
Amongst one of the initiatives is the constitution of a district task force for each district to attend to issues and grievances related to children affected by Covid-19, he said.
An orientation cum stakeholders meeting was organised by the Department in virtual mode with the district task force members and other stakeholders on May 7th. The meet was addressed by Chairperson, JJC Justice Rajiv Shakdher, Rajendra Pal Gautam, Minister, Women and Child Development, Anurag Kundu, Chairperson (DCPCR) and Madhu garg, Secretary of WCD.
The objective of this meet was to develop a common understanding on roles and responsibility of the district task force to bring coordination with other concerned agencies to provide immediate care and protection to all vulnerable children in their districts affected due to Covid and for effective management of child care institutions.
