With Covid-19 still raging, the Bilaspur administration in Chhattisgarh on Sunday extended till April 26 the lockdown in the district.
The lockdown was imposed from April 14 to the morning of April 21.
Bilaspur Collector Dr Saransh Mittar said the lockdown has been extended by five days.
He said a surge in coronavirus cases and fatalities despite the strict lockdown in Bilaspur was a matter of concern and so the lockdown needed to be extended to save human lives.
The district's borders will remain sealed. All other lockdown conditions will remain. On Saturday, 1,189 fresh Covid cases were detected and two people died due to Covid in Bilaspur district.
