Jagdalpur Medical Hospital to be named after late Karma

Sunday, 14 March 2021 | PNS | RAIPUR

The Jagdalpur (Dimrapal) Medical College will continue to be known after Baliram Kashyap, a tribal leader of Bastar region, but the Medical Hospital run in the premises will be named in memory of Mahendra Karma, it was announced on Saturday. Bastar District Collector Rajat Bansal described as "false" and "devoid of facts" news in a section of the media that Medical College and Hospital's name will be changed from that of Kashyap to Karma, a Congress leader.

As Baliram Kashyap was one of the longest serving MPs from BJP, after his demise the new Government Medical College and Hospital at Dimrapal were named after him during the BJP government. After the earlier news was flashed, BJP leaders condemned the government.
