Delhi Govt’s ITO nursery gets a greenhouse

The Delhi Government is all set to start the first greenhouse at its ITO nursery with the aim of cultivating plants using modern techniques.

Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said that with the development of a greenhouse, the Delhi Government’s nursery can produce the maximum quantity of medicinal plants in minimal time.

Rai inspected the ITO Nursery on Friday regarding the distribution system of all plants, and medicinal plants in particular.

“The Government is working against pollution in Delhi and since June 5 we have started a free distribution programme of medicinal plants from the 14 nurseries belonging to the Delhi Government. The RWAs and NGOs are taking plants from these nurseries under the campaign launched by the Delhi Government. Today we have also inaugurated Delhi’s first greenhouse at a nursery. All our nurseries will have a greenhouse gradually,” he said.
