Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra and 5T Secretary VK Pandian on the directions of the Chief Minister on Wednesday visited the Narsinghnath Temple in Bargarh district and the Harishankar Temple in Balangir district to discuss the development of the temple surroundings. These two temples are important tourist and spiritual place of Odisha and there is tremendous potential to develop it as a part of major tourist circuit. The Chief Minister has directed to take up projects for development and heritage conservation. This transformational project will include beautification, pilgrim amenities, approach roads, tourist facilities, trekking routes, feasibility of ropeway, facilities for marriage halls and water conservation features
WODC Chairman and Principal Advisor to Chief Minister Asit Tripathy, Special Secretary R Vinil Krishna and Bargarh Collector Jyotiranjan Pradhan were also present during their visit. Later, the Chief Secretary, the 5T Secretary and other senior officials visited and reviewed Lower Suktel Dam project in Balangir. “We had a detailed review of Lower Suktel Irrigation project and all problems will be sorted out. The district Collector has held a meeting with displaced villagers and efforts are on to start project and complete it as early as possible,” said Chief Secretary.
