Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ordered the closure of all educational institutions for the next two days and instructed all divisional commissioners and district magistrates to carry out relief work in full earnest in view of the excessive rainfall in many areas of the state.
He said that senior officers should visit the affected areas and keep an eye on the relief work.
The chief minister gave instructions to close all the educational institutions, including schools and colleges, for the next two days – September 17 and 18. He appealed to the people to exercise caution and not venture out if it was not urgently required.
The chief minister in a press statement here on Thursday night said that in view of this calamity, relief work should be carried out effectively in the districts.
“Immediate relief should be provided to the people affected by the disaster. In case of water-logging, arrangements for drainage should be made on priority," Yogi Adityanath said.
He directed the officers of the respective districts to assess the damage caused by this disaster.
