Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday launched the ambitious Sona Sobran Dhoti Saree Distribution Scheme organised from Dumka. The scheme is aimed at benefitting lakhs of BPL holders of the State. The Government has made a provision of Rs 500 crore for the scheme. Beneficiaries will be given dhoti saree or lungi under this scheme twice a year.
On this occasion, the CM inaugurated 18 schemes of over Rs 37.92 crore, at the same time, the foundation stone of several schemes costing
Rs 230.76 was laid. On this occasion, cheques were handed over to the beneficiaries of the Chief Minister's Employment Generation Scheme.
The CM, on the occasion, presented dhoti-sarees to some of the beneficiaries. Programmes were also organized for distribution of dhoti sarees in Ranchi, Chaibasa, Garhwa, Giridih and Seraikela Kharsawan districts were linked online with the state level programme being held in Dumka. Apart from this, the dhoti saree distribution scheme was also organised in other districts. The CM also interacted with the beneficiaries in this sequence.
The CM said that the Government has started many schemes. All these plans are being implemented very fast. In this episode, the dhoti-sari distribution scheme has been started again. He said that many times the villagers do not have the correct information about the schemes. Because of this they are not able to take advantage of it. He asked the people to go to the government offices to get information about all the schemes and get associated with them. He asked the people's representatives and officials to inform the villagers about the schemes and also ensure to give its benefits.
Soren said that new plans and new policies are being made for all sectors including agriculture, animal husbandry, industry, sports, fisheries, poultry, pig farming, dairy, horticulture so that it can be implemented in a better way. He said that farmers and villages would be strong, only then Jharkhand would become prosperous and strong. The government is working with this thinking.
“The government is making continuous efforts for investment in the State. Investors come here to set up industries, for this a new industry promotion policy has been made. The youth of scheduled castes and tribes who are willing to set up industries, are getting many facilities and exemptions from the government,” he said.
The CM said that the government has a special focus on providing jobs and employment to the youth in the State. The government has declared this year as the year of appointment, but due to Covid-19, a lot of challenges were faced. But, it has already started with the conduct of Civil Services Examination of Jharkhand Public Service Commission. Now this process will go on continuously.
He further said that there is immense potential in the field of sports in the State. This is the reason why the government has taken many steps for the development of sports and sportspersons. For the first time in the State, direct appointment of players has taken place. Sports officials have also been reinstated in every district. Apart from this, the work of developing sports grounds is also going on at a fast pace. All the facilities will be provided to the players so that they can bring laurels to the country of Jharkhand at the national and international level.
The CM said that the government has decided to open one model school in all the districts to enable the poor children of the state to study in English medium schools. From the next session, English medium education will be started in all these schools, he said. The students of Scheduled Tribes who want to get higher education abroad are being given scholarships by the government. The government is taking continuous steps for the betterment of education. He also said that children in schools will now get eggs 6 days a week instead of three. He urged the villagers to produce eggs through poultry farms. The government will buy these eggs.
In this programme, Rajya Sabha MP Shibu Soren, Finance and Food Supplies Minister Rameshwar Oraon, Agriculture Minister Badal, MLA Stephen Marandi, Nalin Soren and Basant Soren, besides District Council President Dumka, DIG Sudarshan Mandal, DC Ravi Shankar Shukla , SP Amber Lakra and other officers of the district administration were present.
