Director General, Haryana Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, Dr Amit Agrawal on Friday said programmes would be organised in 22 districts of the State on a grand scale as part of the International Gita Mahotsav 2021.
“Through these programmes, efforts will be made to connect the common citizens with the holy message of Gita. District level programmes will be organised from December 12 to 14 in all the districts of the state to celebrate this festival,” said Agrawal after holding a detailed discussion with the officers about the programmes to be held at the district level through video conferencing.
Agrawal, who is also Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister said that on behalf of the Information Public Relations and Languages Department, all the Deputy Commissioners of the state have been informed in writing that programmes will be organised in all the districts regarding International Gita Mahotsav 2021. This year, 75 years of independence of the country has been completed, so the theme of this festival will be Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. Various programmes will be organised over three days at district level from December 12 to 14, he informed.
He added a committee has been constituted at the district level in all the districts to celebrate this festival in a successful and grand manner. Except Kurukshetra, DC or ADC will be the chairman of the committee in all the districts while the city magistrate, account officer and district information and public relations officer will be member secretary.
The district level programme of Gita Mahotsav will be celebrated in Kurukshetra district like it is celebrated in Pehowa every year. In the district of Kurukshetra, DC or ADC will be the chairman of the committee, the city magistrate, accounts officer, DIPRO, and Chief Executive Officer, Kurukshetra Development Board will also be the members of the committee, he added.
Director General also said that during the three-day programme to be held at the district level, Gita seminar, Gita Havan Yagya and recitation would be organised and painting and other competitions will be organised for school students.
An exhibition would also be organised by the Department of Information, Public Relations and Languages. In this exhibition, along with the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the content of the holy book Gita and Government schemes will be included. In addition to this, city procession and cultural programmes based on Mahabharata and Lord Krishna will also be organised, he said.
