Twitter on Sunday appointed Vinay Prakash as its Resident Grievance Officer to meet new Information Technology guidelines amid tensions with the Modi Government.
The US based microblogging platform also released its transparency report saying it has received 94 grievances and “actioned” 133 URLs (uniform resource locators) between May 26 and June 25. Twitter said it had suspended 18,385 accounts for child sexual exploitation, non-consensual nudity and 4,179 for promotion of terrorism.
Twitter becomes the fourth major social media firm after Facebook, Instagram and Google to release a report in keeping with the new rules that triggered its conflict with the Central Government.
As per the information updated on Twitter’s website, Vinay Prakash is the Resident Grievance Officer (RGO). Users can contact him using an email ID listed on the page.
