The State Crime Branch (CB) on Wednesday alerted the police about a fake website that has been cheating aspirants on the pretext of providing employment.
In an advisory to all district SPs, DCPs of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack and Superintendents of Railway Police (SRP) of Rourkela and Cuttack, the CB said the website www.shinejob.tech, launched by fraudsters, is hosted on German IP Protocol.
Describing the modus operandi of the cyber fraudsters, the CB said the website has different web pages and soon after the user access the website for job, he or she would be directed to the web page to submit her or his identity details, credit card details and CVV number.
The website charges the users Rs 10 for applying for jobs. Further, the user is redirected to another web page, where the applicant would be asked to submit PayTM pin. At the end the website shows payment gateway error, informed the CB.
After getting the details, the fraudsters hack the ATM card and CVV number to withdraw money from their bank accounts, the CB warned, adding that the original website URL is www.shine.com.
The CB asked the job seekers to verify the domain name from friends or persons having knowledge about its genuineness and not to give financial details i.e. ATM Card, Credit Card number, CVV number, PayTM PIN number, as it is not asked anywhere.
