Bhil artist Pema Fatya's Chitrajan Yatra was displayed on the Department's YouTube channel on Monday. Observing the International Museum Day at the Madhya Pradesh Tribal Museum, the photographs of his paintings were presented.
This special event celebrates an important artist from the Department of Culture on the occasion of International Museum Day. In this presentation, paintings made by Pema Fatya were displayed. In the programme presented, he can be seen working and includes the stories told by the culture workers. Pema Fatya, a senior tribal artist, worked on Bhil paintings. The art is simple images of everyday life of this tribe. Their houses have beautiful frescos of images from myth and folklore on the walls and ceilings.
The pigments are made from natural materials like leaves and flowers and they use neem twigs as brushes to create their art. Tribal art has gained popularity in recent years because of its simple and bold creations of everyday life.
The distinguishing feature of Bhil art are dots which cover the entire plain background. These dots are skillfully repeated on the entire painting in beautiful patterns and colour.YouTube channel of Department of Culture has btoadcasted the show.
