Keeping in view the rising Covid-19 positive cases, the Gajapati district administration on Friday announced shutdown in two blocks, one gram panchayat and also in the headquarters town here for three days starting from June 28.
“Gosani and Gumma blocks, Ranipentho GP under Kashinagar block and Paralakhemundi town will remain under shutdown for 3 days (from June 28 to June 30). However, medical emergency and other essential services will be allowed during the shutdown,” informed district Collector Anupam Saha.
This apart, 40 medical teams would be formed for a door-to-door survey, added the Collector, who sought public cooperation for containment of coronavirus.
Notably, the district has been witnessing a steady rise in Covid-19 positive cases for the last couple of days. Currently, the district’s tally stands at 411, including 290 active cases.
