Despite the tough circumstances arising out of the coronavirus pandemic and ongoing nationwide lockdown, the Border Roads Organisation (BRO managed to construct the strategically important Daporijo Bridge over Subansiri River in Arunachal Pradesh. The bridge will cater to local population in the forward area and maintain strategic line of communication for the troops deployed on the LAC facing China. The repair work on the bridge started on March 17.
The Old Bridge had developed cracks and could have led to a major catastrophe like on July 26, 1992 when a passenger bus fell off the bridge leaving no survivors.
